WELCOME

SLG continues to be the largest and fastest growing multicultural sorority, providing an avenue for academic excellence and empowerment to women of all background and identities. We do not discriminate against sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, creed, etc. We honor the diverse cultural heritages of all of our sisters and welcome women of all backgrounds to seek membership.

Candidates for membership must demonstrate a commitment to Sigma Lambda Gamma’s Five Principles, as well as a commitment to making an impact within her community and beyond. Our potential members must recognize the need for a strong support system among women of different cultures and identities both at the university level and on a global scale.

The Theta Delta Chapter of Sigma Lambda Gamma belongs to Columbia University's Multicultural Greek Council, and, therefore, our recruitment process is separate from the annual Panhellenic Council recruitment. Through a process of mutual selection, which begins with attendance at sorority sponsored events and interactions with chapter members, interested women can begin their application process and subsequent new member education training with our entity during the Fall or Spring semesters.  For more information, women with any interest in SLG are recommended to attend any of the informationals we hold, which occur twice per semester.

We look forward to working with women interested in pursuing membership with Sigma Lambda Gamma. We recommend researching organizations for the one that best suits you with the hope that once you choose your future organization, it has resulted from an educated decision. We encourage you to learn more about our organization’s history, beliefs, ideals, philanthropic endeavors, and entities through our National Website. Additionally, we encourage you to look into Columbia’s Greek Life Community and the shared values it holds.

Joining a sorority can be a wonderful lifetime commitment, and the Theta Delta Chapter of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. asks that any interested woman make use of the resources available to them, including the sisters, to pursue membership in our organization.
